of Purepecha warriors who, in pre-Hispanic times, defended the Baj\u00edo region of Michoac\u00e1n.\nOriginally a ritual dance with a pagan meaning, its purpose changed with the arrival of evangelization, adapting itself as a religious expression. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-family: Poppins;\">Today, this dance is performed on May 24 in the community of Puru\u00e1ndiro in honor of the Se\u00f1or de la Salud. With energetic movements and the rhythmic clashing of sticks, the dance symbolizes struggle and protection, keeping alive the warrior essence of its origins, but with an approach that celebrates faith and devotion. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-family: Poppins;\">This tradition, which fuses the pre-Hispanic with the religious, is a sample of cultural syncretism in Michoac\u00e1n, where ancient customs are adapted and survive in the community identity, transmitting to new generations a legacy of history, devotion and cultural
